AMACH – To The Field

Excited to share details of my latest project in collaboration with Save Leitrim thanks to Leitrim County Council & CreativeIrl. 20 farmers from across Leitrim tell the story of the townlands and fields that they farm. A project that looks to reinforce the positives of our Leitrim land and celebrate it for all that it is through history, biodiversity, folklore, heritage and community. Over the next 3 months the farmers are researching their townland and working alongside artist Natalia Beylis recording the sounds of their townlands while farming for nature leader John Matthews is walking the fields with each farmer guiding them on biodiversity building. This October a door belonging to an old farm house or farm shed from each of the townlands will be hung in a field belonging to the farmer. The coordinates of all 20 doors will be shared with the public with access granted to the doors for 2 weeks. On each door frame there will be a phone number. When dialled you will hear the farmer telling the story of the fields you stand in.
